ANNUAL BENEFIT DINNER

On Friday, April 29, 2011, at 6:30pm, the CUNY Institute for Irish-American Studies will celebrate eleven years of promoting all aspects of Irish-American Studies with a dinner at Rosie O’Grady’s Restaurant in Manhattan. This dinner serves as a wonderful social occasion, and raises necessary funds to ensure the continuation of the important work of the Institute. The evening’s events will also include presentations recognizing this year’s Institute Honorees.

The Institute, based at Lehman College, coordinates undergraduate and graduate classes in the Bronx and Queens, hosts public events at several CUNY campuses in the Bronx, Manhattan, and Queens, and seeks out research grants and contracts from American and Irish funding sources. Funds raised at past dinners have provided stipends for graduate students and part-time faculty involved in Irish-American Studies scholarship, funded travel grants for undergraduate and graduate CUNY students to attend and present papers at national conferences of Irish Studies and to perform in concerts in Ireland, and have supported our public events schedule.

In addition to attending this wonderful event, we encourage you to support the Institute for Irish-American Studies by placing an advertisement in our dinner journal. The deadline for advertisements is Monday, April 4th.
