2/24/10 (Wed.) @ 7pm: Irish-American Studies Book Club. Prof. Janet Butler Munch will lead a discussion about Closing Time: A Memoir by Joe Queenan. [CUNY Graduate Center—Room 8301].

3/1/10 (Mon.) @ 7:00pm: Panel on Ireland’s “20 Year Strategy for the Irish Language” and its implications for Irish language learning in America. [Lehman College — East Dining Room, Music Building].

3/7/10 (Sun.) @ 5:30pm: Irish Language Conversation Circle with CUNY Fulbright FLTA Úna Faherty [Rambling House — Dining Room Section].

3/18/10 (Thurs.) @ noon: Prof. Morris Lang will direct the Lehman Percussion Ensemble in a joint performance with students from the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin [Lehman College — Studio Theatre].

3/25/10 (Thurs.) @ 4pm: Reading and Lecture: Tom Kelly, author of Empire Rising, The Rackets, and other works. Co-sponsored by the English Department, Manhattan College. [Manhattan College - Alumni Room, O’Malley Library].

4/12/10 (Mon.) @ noon: Irish Language Conversation Circle with Úna Faherty [Lehman College — Carman Hall 188].

4/19/10 (Mon.) @ 12:15pm: Lecture “Irish Emancipation—Black Abolition: a broken partnership” with Dr. Neil O’Connell of the Lehman College History Department. [Lehman College — East Dining Room, Music Building].

5/8/10 (Sat.) @ 11am: Children’s performance. Musician and author Tadhg Mac Dhonnagáin will perform songs from his CDs for children. [Aisling Irish Community Center].

5/8/10-5/9/10 (Sat. & Sun.): The CUNY Institute for Irish-American Studies will co-sponsor Tadhg Mac Dhonnagáin’s workshop and performance at the Irish language immersion weekend organized by Daitaí na Gaeilge in Esopus, NY.

5/10/10 (Mon.) @ 12:15pm: Tadhg Mac Dhonnagáin performs song, poetry, and a variety of other traditional folklore from the west of Ireland recently featured on his book and CD Aniar, Voices and Verse from the Edge of the World. [Queens College - M-11, Rathaus Hall].
